Graduated from Stockholm University!

I'm excited to share that I've completed my bachelor's degree in Digital Media at the Department of Computer and Systems Sciences, Stockholm University. I started during the Covid-19 pandemic when I suddenly had more time on my hands, and honestly wasn't sure I'd make it through. Really glad I stuck with it.

Balancing studies with freelance work and touring wasn’t always easy, but it turned into a valuable journey that gave me new knowledge and experiences I’ll carry into future projects.

Together with my good friend Emil Calmels, I also wrote my thesis on skins as a form of social expression in gaming, a topic that felt both inspiring and highly relevant. I’m thankful for this chapter and excited to build on it moving forward!

Back to Photoshop, A few Quick Poster Projects

Hey everyone! Just wanted to pop in with a little update. Recently I felt like it had been way too long since I really sat down and worked in Photoshop, so I decided to throw myself into a mini-project. I ended up making a few posters for different events, nothing huge, more of an exercise to shake off the rust and get back into the flow.

I kept it pretty loose and fun, working fast and mixing together different assets just to see what I could come up with. The goal wasn’t perfection, but to get back into that creative headspace again and remind myself of all the little tricks and workflows I hadn’t used in a while.

All in all, it turned out to be a really good experience. Sometimes quick projects like these are the best way to learn and build confidence again and it definitely reminded me why I love working in Photoshop in the first place.

Reflection on my apprenticeship at Kehitys and CMNTY

From January to June I had the chance to do my apprenticeship at Kehitys and it turned out to be one of the most valuable experiences I’ve had so far. The work there really complemented a lot of the projects I’ve done before, but also gave me the chance to grow in new directions and pick up skills that I’ll take with me moving forward.

The team at Kehitys was tight-knit and I was lucky to meet not only a lot of new colleagues and friends there, but also from sharing the office space with my friends at CMNTY.XYZ. My role included plenty of technical work, but what I was most excited about was the new insights and experience I gained in project management and graphic design (something I have written about and will continue to update you on in other posts here on the blog).

Looking back, I’m incredibly happy and thankful for everything I learned from the team at Kehitys and even happier that I get to continue collaborating with them on a few projects here and there. It’s been an important step for me, both professionally and personally and I couldn’t have asked for a better place to do my apprenticeship.

AMF Block Party – Market Event Production

During my internship at Kehitys, I had the chance to take on full responsibility for the technical production of a large market event created together with CMNTY and AMF Mood-district as part of the AMF Block Party on Regeringsgatan/Malmskillnadsgatan. The event was a big success, drawing several thousand visitors and featuring happy exhibitors such as T-Skylt, Seams, Tuttolente and Dunderkläder.

My role covered everything from coordinating multiple suppliers and creating the technical specifications for the stage and all exhibitors, developing the floor plan, handling safety responsibilities and producing the stage on site with a team of employees working under my lead. It was an intense and challenging production, but also incredibly rewarding to see it all come together successfully.

I’m deeply thankful to Kehitys for trusting me with this responsibility and for seeing the potential in my planning. A big thank you as well to my colleague Tamalie, with whom I designed the event poster a task that took a lot of hard work, but turned out to be a very rewarding experience.

Lookbook Production for Mitchell & Ness

One of the most exciting parts of my apprenticeship at Kehitys was the opportunity to lead an entire production for the iconic brand Mitchell & Ness and their new Q2 collection. This project pushed me into a role with full responsibility for coordinating models, production schedules, budget, photographer, asset lists, and the overall artistic direction.

The production was challenging, mainly due to short lead times, but it also became one of the most valuable learning experiences during my practice. Despite the pressure, I managed to pull everything together and deliver a result I’m proud of. Along the way, I received great support from the rest of the Kehitys team, which made it possible to handle such a big responsibility.

Looking back, I’m incredibly thankful to have been trusted with this project as part of my internship. It taught me a lot about leadership, decision-making and creative direction under tight deadlines and it’s an experience I’ll carry with me into future productions.

Starting My Internship at Kehitys

From the beginning of January, I’m starting my internship at Kehitys, a media group where I’ll be working on a wide range of creative and technical projects under the wings of Andreas "Adde" Ramos Undén, one of my creative idols who's been in the industry longer than I've been alive. He's behind some of the most influential brands and concepts in the European scene, including New Black. I'm really looking forward to learning as much as I can and I feel blessed to even get the opportunity.

My plan is to keep this blog updated with the different projects I’ll be part of throughout the internship so stay tuned for more!

Leva Studios, Three Commercials, One Pipeline

During our final project course in at the Department of Computer and Systems Sciences, Stockholm University, we created something really special under the name Leva Studios. Within the span of the course, we produced three different commercial videos, all built through our very own production pipeline that we designed specifically for this project.

The idea was to bring together everything we had learned over three years of studying — and it truly became a mix of all our skills. On the post-production side, we worked with Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Photoshop for editing, graphics and even packaging design. On the 3D and visual side, we combined tools like Maya, Unreal Engine, Houdini, Blender, and Substance 3D for modeling, animation, texturing, and rendering.

What made this project even more meaningful was the teamwork. I got to work alongside my closest classmates from these three years and collaboration was not only important but also incredibly rewarding. A big thank you to Elias Bennaceur and Emil Calmels for making this project such a great experience it wouldn’t have been the same without you.

Yet another summer touring...

This summer's tour has been one of the most rewarding yet. We managed to squeeze in 7 festival gigs, which was a refreshing change from the usual mix of club shows and it felt like the perfect setting to showcase what we do. After touring with the same crew for seven years now, since 2017, I feel incredibly fortunate to have found my place in this team aswell as having the opportunity to continue to evolve creatively with full freedom and 100% support from everyone.

In addition to the festivals, I’ve also balanced nearly 25 shows with Koicha this spring and summer, which has been an incredible ride in itself. The intense schedule is part of why I'm actually looking forward to this upcoming focus-on-school break... It’s been a fulfilling but non-stop summer and the pause is well-earned.

Behind the Scenes: Indie Game Asset Creation

I recently worked on a few assets for a secret indie game, set to release in late 2026. My task was to create a custom asset pack featuring spray cans and skateboard ramps. Using Maya for modeling and Substance Painter for texturing, I crafted detailed, polished assets that fit seamlessly into the game’s style. It was a great challenge and I’m really excited for the final release. Stay tuned!

Festival Stage Production OUAT 3

This summer I had the chance to take on the role as head of technical production for a festival stage with around 2,000 attendees. It was an intense project, but also an incredible experience to work alongside some of my closest friends and colleagues in the industry. Despite the weather not being on our side, we managed to pull everything together without major issues and built a large stage setup where DJs performed surrounded by the audience.

The lineup included some truly renowned artists from both Sweden and the UK, such as Friction, Deekline, and Rebecka & Fiona. Seeing the crowd respond to these performances on a stage we had built was a very rewarding moment for all of us.

I worked as the main head of production on the stage, with Elias Aabjerg leading the décor and Arvid Skyttberg managing the sound. Both of them are some of my closest colleagues over the years, and we’ve built a strong way of working together. This project was a perfect example of how much can be achieved with the right mix of teamwork, dedication, and trust.

Turning Art to 3D

Recently, I had the incredible opportunity to work with the well-known artist John Beijer to bring one of his iconic designs to life in 3D. He wanted his signature "shark fin" turned into a 3D model so it could be used as a base for his sculptures. I took the initial idea and transformed it into a detailed 3D version using Maya and substance painter for texturing and rendering.

I also had some great assistance from Elias Bennaceur, a talented classmate of mine, whose input made a big difference in the process. Together, we ensured that the final model captured the essence of Beijer’s design while being technically sound for baking into sculptures. It was a rewarding experience, and the first one of many in blending art and 3D work!

Transmedial Communication Course About the Use of AI in Healthcare

Recently, I completed a 15HP transmedia course at Stockholm University, which was part of a collaboration with the new AI in Health master's program at Karolinska Institutet and Stockholm University. Working with a few good friends, we explored how to use different media platforms to communicate healthcare information effectively.

Our group created a webpage forum as our main information hub, along with professional video seminars featuring industry experts. We added motion graphics, multi-angle camera work and pop-up questions throughout the videos to keep viewers engaged and encourage active participation.

The highlight of our project was doing a Virtual Production presentation at DSV Stockholm University's Virtual Production studio, we were the only group in the school to attempt this. The project involved scheduling, operating three cameras, modeling virtual environments and using Unreal Engine to control the production suite. Moderating the show was quite challenging as it was streamed publicly for hundreds of people and we needed a team of eight people total to pull off this complex project. It was a great learning experience working with production technology that's changing how we create content.

My Journey in 3D Modeling

I recently took a new course called 3D Modeling, where I chose the animation track and it was a fantastic learning experience. For my main project, I decided to create a marble run diorama with a skatepark theme, crafting every single asset myself from scratch.

My Journey in 3D Rendering

I recently took a 3D rendering course at Stockholm University, and it was an incredible experience. The course opened my eyes to the exciting world of 3D rendering, where creativity and technology come together to create amazing digital environments. With access to the latest tools and guidance from skilled instructors, I really got into mastering this craft.

One of the highlights was a project where I created a close-to-photorealistic rendering of a Swedish village. Over the course of a month, I dedicated myself to modeling every detail in Maya and it was both challenging and rewarding.

Crafting the Stage at Once Upon a Time 2 Festival

Last week, I had the thrilling opportunity to serve as the lead stage designer and technician for the Once Upon a Time 2 Festival, alongside my colleague Elias. Together, we brought our creative vision to life on an almost nonexistent budget, relying on grassroots support and facing challenging weather conditions.

For five intense days, we transformed the festival stage into a magical realm, tackling numerous obstacles along the way. The hard work of our crew and enthusiastic volunteers was invaluable, allowing us to execute our design efficiently despite limited resources.

When the festival began, our stage was ready to captivate the audience. The hastely crafted decor came to life, showcasing our dedication and creativity, while becoming a focal point for festival-goers and performers alike.

Reflecting on this journey, I’m reminded of the power of teamwork and shared passion. Leading such a project was daunting, but we proved that dreams can become reality, even on a tight budget. As the festival concluded, Elias and I felt immense pride in what we had accomplished.

ODZ at Brännbollsyran Festival 2023

What a blast it was to once again be back at the stage at Brännbollsyran, delivering visuals as a VJ for ODZ. This marked my fourth year at the festival and the excitement only grows with each return.

As the sun went down and the music started, I got to create visuals that really brought ODZ's performance to life. Working with them is always a blast; they trust my vision and let me get creative.

Collaborating with ODZ is as per usual an absolute joy. Their trust in my creative vision gave me the freedom to experiment and push boundaries. I kept the visuals evolving, The ecstatic reactions and cheers reaffirmed that the fusion of music and visuals was a good.

Techno night W/ Fightbox

As event coordinators and creative consultants, my colleague Elias and I were thrilled to organize an electrifying party for the renowned Fightbox Gym. We aimed to create an unforgettable experience with a dark, techno-themed ambiance by demand from the owner.

Starting a few week before the gig, we immersed ourselves in planning the design and programming the lights. Projections became our canvas for artistic expression, transforming the venue with captivating visuals.

On the night of the event, the Fightbox transformed into a night club with music from some of swedens best Djs sush as Jessie Granqvist, captivating the crowd with our carefully selected tracks. It was a true testament to the power of creativity and collaboration, proving that even in a smaller gig, great things can be created through thoughtful planning and execution.

Once Upon a Time 2022

Let’s dive into the unforgettable forest rave we organized on a tight budget and with little lead time, alongside Techostate. Despite the challenges, we managed to attract nearly 2,500 people for an incredible experience.

With limited resources, we got creative. One of the highlights was climbing trees to secure lights in the tall pines, transforming the forest into a vibrant party space. We also used a back-projection screen as a backdrop for the DJs, mimicking a full LED wall without breaking the bank.

We created visuals in Resolume and programmed the lights to sync perfectly with the music, making this one of Sweden's largest raves ever. The energy from the crowd was electrifying and it felt amazing to pull off such a huge event in such a short time.

Crafting Magic: A Triumph of Creativity at the Brilliant Minds Foundation Afterparty

As an event coordinator and creative consultant, organizing parts of the afterparty for the Brilliant Minds Foundation was an exhilarating challenge. Alongside my colleague Elias, we embraced this opportunity with passion, working hard to create an unforgettable experience in just three weeks.

Our planning focused heavily on design, aiming for an immersive ambiance that reflected the essence of the Foundation. Lighting became the centerpiece of our vision, with carefully curated fixtures in four distinct areas that brought each space to life with warm tones and vibrant colors.

A standout feature was a massive 5-meter-tall face we constructed, symbolizing inspiration and enlightenment. Coordinating its construction required attention to detail and collaboration with skilled craftsmen & friends.

Logistically, we managed the budget and ensured every detail met financial constraints without sacrificing creativity. The night was electrifying, highlighted by a performance from Swedish House Mafia and attended by inspiring guests like Edward Norton, Emma Watson, and Malala Yousafzai.

Our efforts culminated in a mesmerizing experience, with the lighting illuminating guests and creating a celebratory atmosphere. The afterparty was a testament to teamwork, creativity, and meticulous planning, leaving me inspired to create more magical moments in my role. I'm grateful to have been part of this extraordinary celebration of brilliance and innovation.

2020 Summary
Reflecting on 2020: A Year of Creative Focus

The year 2020 may have thrown me some unexpected challenges with the global pandemic, but it also provided a unique opportunity for growth and creative exploration. With touring taking a step back for the first time in 3 years of more or less constant gigging. I embraced the chance to dive deeper into my craft as a VJ and stage technician. The slower pace allowed for a profound focus on honing my skills and refining my visual artistry.

While the world paused, I seized the moment to experiment, learn, and push the boundaries of what I could achieve visually. Freed from the constant rush of touring, I delved into new techniques, collaborated with fellow artists, and expanded my creative horizons. It was a year of reflection, introspection and transformation, allowing me to emerge with a renewed sense of purpose and vision.

The lessons learned and the growth experienced in 2020 have become an integral part of my "journey", shaping the way I approach every gig, every project and every opportunity that lies ahead.

VJ-Gig for Frej Larsson's 2019 Tour Finale

Teaming up with awesome animators and designers, including Delicious Brains and Ossian Theselius , I dove into an electrifying adventure during Frej Larsson's tour finale in Stockholm.

Now, here's the fun part – we spiced things up with a dash of 3D mapping and back-projection magic. This VJ-gig was like a fusion of creativity and tech, leaving everyone with memories for ages. Frej Larsson's tour finale turned into a canvas where talent and imagination painted the night.

Looking back, I'm stoked about the visual artistry journey ahead. Teamwork with visionaries, tech wizardry and crafting experiences that take folks on a visual trip – that's what keeps my VJ spirit alive.

Visuals for ODZ at Annexet (Stockholm)

Let's dive into the ODZ tour finale at Annexet Stockholm – a gig that really changed me and took the crowd on an unforgettable ride. Imagine this: 4 massive LED walls stealing the spotlight, courtesy of the genius design by Timothy Wilson, aka "Svår @ Döda." Teaming up with pals David Hult and Elias Bomark, we created a visual symphony that synced flawlessly with the songs. With ODZ fans from all over the country packing the arena – about 2400 strong – the pressure was on.

But here's a twist – we didn't just stop at the gig itself. We joined forces with Per Sinding Larsen to film for an SVT documentary about the show. Talk about an extra layer of excitement! You can catch a glimpse of the action here:
